Looking for the Perfect Gluten Free Bread Machine?
Hi there, I’m Jan, a Gluten-free Mommy of three. 3 years ago I was diagnosed with Celiac disease. The transition to a 100% gluten-free diet has not been an easy one for my family and I, but we have endured and have come out healthier as a result. Tip: We found many ways to still enjoy the foods we love, but we found gluten-free substitutes instead.
I hope you Enjoy the site!
What to look for in the best gluten free bread machine.
Here are some features to look for when deciding on a bread maker:
- Space To Put Bread Machine
- Size Of Loaves
- Programmable Settings – so that you can adjust the rising cycles
- Dual Blade – for our heavier gluten-free dough
- Cool down Cycle (not required)
- Gluten-free setting (on some models)
- Pause Button
- Ability to make Jam, Pizza dough and more
- Warranty & Durability
From the above list I would say that the ability to program my own baking cycles is the most important. I also prefer dual blade, or double paddle, machines because they tend to mix the dough much better, with less scraping of the sides of the pan. And of course, in my family, we all enjoy an occasional batch of homemade jam.

How do I use my gluten free bread machine?
- Programmable Settings
- Quick Bake or Rapid Bake Setting
- Gluten-free setting.
Here’s the skinny: gluten-free bread only needs 1 kneading and 1 rising cycle. Traditional bread is made by kneading it, letting it rise for about 20 minutes and then kneading it again. This does not turn out well for gluten-free bread. So, you want to cut out the extra kneading and rising cycles altogether. And for the best gluten-free bread machines you can do this with either programmable settings, a quick bake or rapid bake setting or a gluten-free setting. Don’t worry, it isn’t hard at all to program most bread machines. Just refer to the user manual. Some can be programmed in as little as 3 steps.
